Flexus Molds
Flexible soap molds greatly
improve the release of your cured soap from the mold cavity. This insures
that more detail and smaller detail, which may have crumbled before, is now
not only possible, but easy.
By using flexible vinyl instead of hard plastic, Flexus Molds are more
durable and not prone to the cracking and warping that other molds have

process soap mold |

To line your mold like the picture on the
left we used plastic wrap and a cut up trash bag. First we put the
plastic wrap on the short sides of the mold. Then we cut a rectangular
piece of trash bag 10.50" x about 20" and placed it down the middle and over
both sides. We used a small amount of scotch tape to hold it in place.
We made a lid by cutting a piece of cardboard
to fit over the mold and then wrapped it in plastic wrap and taped it.
You could also get a cheap plastic cutting board that is close to the mold
dimensions-should be larger, not smaller. |

Soap Cutter Instructions
The
cutters work best when the soap is not too hard - cut between 24 to 36 hours
from the time you put in mold. I'm assuming you are using my recipe. If you
use a recipe that makes a softer bar of soap, you can wait longer. If you wait
too long, it won't work at all. The wire can't cut it.
To cut
the strips: Take soap out of mold and set on end with the 8-3/4 end on the
working surface. Take your strip cutter (that's the shorter one with the wire
at 3-1/2 inches) and turn it upside down. Pass it through the end and across
the soap to make a strip of soap 8-3/4 inches long and 3-1/2 inches wide. Pass
it through the block again and you will have 3 equal strips ready to be cut into
bars.
To cut
bars: The bar cutter is set at 1 inch. Just set the cutter on the table with
the U up. Take your strip and set it on the cutter and pass it through the
wire. Keep doing this until the entire strip is cut into 9 bars. Each bar
weighs approximately 4 to 4-1/4 ounces. There are two additional holes made one
at 7/8 inch and one at 15/16 inch.
